aPHRi Certification Exam Fee
Currently, in 2024, the aPHRi Exam Fee is $300.00 while the Application Fee is $100.00 but our students do not pay application fee, they only pay for aPHRi examination fee.
Note: Once you have sent an exam application and it is approved, there will be no refunds of fees paid whether you withdraw from the exam or no longer wish to take the exam.
aPHRi Certification Process
After you are done with the certification course, you will need to apply for and pass the certification exam before being awarded the credential. The duration of the course may vary based on the training provider. The test can be taken all year round so you won’t need to rush, you can relax and prepare properly for the exam before applying for it and writing it.
Once you submit your application and it is approved, you will be sent an eligibility ID from HRCI through the mail. From the time you receive this ID, you will have a period of 180 days to choose an exam date, the format of taking the exam, and a location that is convenient for you.
There are two ways of taking the computer-based exam which you can choose from: the Pearson VUE method which involves you taking it in a test center and the OnVUE online proctoring method which involves you taking the exam online wherever you are — whether it is at home, in the office, or anywhere else.
However, bear in mind that the OnVUE method of taking the exam isn’t available in all countries so make sure you check the onvue website allocated to it, for confirmation before you make a choice.
If your preferred choice is to take the exam in a testing center, make sure that you book a schedule with your preferred testing center and save a spot on time because each time you want to cancel or reschedule an exam appointment you have set, you will need to pay a fee of $150. Fees are also required if you want to make changes to the OnVUE exam appointment you earlier made.
Also, make sure you schedule the test on a date and time that you can be available, to avoid your fees being fortified or payment of extra fees.
When you are done with the application process, it is time to take the exam. The exam usually has 65 scored questions and 25 pretest non-scored questions and lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes, plus an added 30 minutes of administration time.
Once you pass the exam, you will be given a certification. However, it doesn’t need there. The aPHRi certification is valid for just three years after you pass the test so you are required to carry out certain activities in those three years in order to earn 45 HR recertification credits and maintain the certification. If you don’t want to go down the route of earning recertification credits then you retake the certification exam after the stipulated time frame.
