We frequently update the content in our standards and guides to reflect the current state of the profession.
Three PMI standards will be updated this year, including release of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Sixth Edition in September.
Important Note
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is based solely on the PMBOK Guide and tests knowledge and understanding of its concepts, tools and techniques. For that reason an entirely new Exam Content Outline and exam for the CAPM will be released that reflects the PMBOK Guide – Sixth Edition.
Certification exam update respective to PMBOK GUIDE Sixth edition updates will commence early in 2018.
A new standard and a new practice guide will also be introduced in 2017.
The other certifications utilize many references to create exam content, therefore the updates for these exams will focus on harmonizing terminology between the publication and exam.
